Your privacy matters to both you and Steer Transport

On the 25th May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 came into force.

The following paragraphs are an explanation of how and why your personal information is stored by Steer Transport.

Steer Transport is a sole trader business. The information is stored from your booking on a computer that is used soley by the owner. It is stored for the purposes of reference to your booking and is never shared with another party.

The company may need to contact you at any time up to and on the day of your booking. This can be by phone, email or text. Please confirm you are happy for us to do this. Without your explicit permission, under the new regulation we will not be able to communicate  with you.

The day after your booking, your personal details stored will be deleted. This is called the destruction date. You have the right to ask for your personal details to be removed from our records at any time before the destruction date. A paper copy in the  form of a diary is also created for the purpose of being able to refer to the information in order to plan the journey. This paper copy is locked away securely when in the owner's and is not accessible by any other party.

There is some information that is required by law (HMRC) to be kept for up to six years for taxation purposes. It is not possible to delete this information and we cannot be asked to delete it by another party. The information kept for taxation purposes  will not have any of your personal data attached to it other than your name and invoice number. Copy invoices will be retained for bookkeeping and HMRC purposes.
